The Cookies Are Coming! The Cookies Are Coming!

This weekend I drove past a woman loading so many cartons of Girl Scout cookies into her station wagon that it was impossible for her to see out of her rear view mirror. For the lucky cookie connoisseurs who put in their preorders in late December or early January, the time has almost come…your cookies should be delivered in the next couple of weeks. For those who rely on booth sales to get your Thin Mints and Samoas, you’ll have to wait a little longer. What? You say that you’ve got to have a Thin Mint now? While I can’t make time go any faster, I can suggest a few genuine licensed Girl Scout cookie products that are on your grocer’s shelf today.

Girl Scout cookie productsThe morning holds many options for Girl Scout cookie lovers. Imagine, pouring yourself in a heaping serving of Thin Mint or Caramel Crunch (Samoa or Caramel DeLite) cereal.  Yum! You know how good that cereal milk will taste after the infusion of chocolatey mint or caramel goodness. If you just want the Thin Mint milk, you can skip the cereal and open a bottle of Girl Scouts Thin Mint Flavored Low Fat Milk.  Say you’re not a cereal eater? How about a chewy Thin Mint granola bar to eat on the go?

If you are more of a desserts person, there are several Girl Scout cookie products to tide you over until you get your hands on the real thing. How do Girl Scouts Thin Mint or Caramel & Coconut cupcakes sound?     While doing research for Thin Mint Memories, I had the chance to talk to Julie Carlson, the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital product sales manager. She made me turn Girl Scout green with envy when she told me that she once ate a warm Samoa right off the factory conveyor belt. With these cupcakes, I’ll be able to get close to that nirvana! Brownie lovers will find their bliss with official Thin Mint brownie and Coconut & Caramel blondie mixes.

Finally, there’s something for those who prefer ice cream for dessert.  Does biting into a  Thin Mint frozen dessert bar,  featuring bits of authentic Thin Mint cookies, or eating a couple of scoops of Girl Scout Cookies Thin Mint ice cream  sound like a delicious way to end a meal? I say yes—and so did several people who were suddenly drawn to the frozen treat aisle while I did my Thin Mint shopping.

Night or day, these official license Girl Scout cookie products are just a car ride away to help you bide your time until you get your Girl Scout cookies. And the good news is that once cookie season is over, these Thin Mint- and Samoa-flavored products will still be around as you eagerly await the 2018 cookie season!
